• History

  Early Life

  
  Rohan grew up knowing that he would inherit the Eirian Dust Company that resides over Vacuo. While he had not been too terribly interested in the investment and time it would take to actually become the next Eirian to control the company, Rohan had learned to accept the fact that that was what he was destined for. Growing up and being part of private schooling most of his life, there was little for other input from peers or those that were also familiar with companies and running businesses.
  
  In his lifetime, Rohan was also familiar with some of the alliances that the Eirian family attempted to make with the Schnee company that was overseas and in the kingdom of Vale. So while Rohan had known about Weiss and her elder sister, Winter, he had no vested interest in becoming their friend, or even associating himself with them after it was apparent that there were conflicts of interest within both families.
  
  As a staple of the Eirian family, Rohan was trained from a young age how to fence, and more importantly, how to lance. At an early age, Rohan was also taught the family semblance -- something that is not common in many other people. It was learned from his family that family passed Semblances were usually results of those of noble or 'worthy' bloodlines. Here was where Rohan learned to have a rather inflated ego as well.
  
  The rune reading had been a little slow at first, but Rohan had eventually been able to utilise the runes like a Schnee could utilise glyphs. Though the runes were spoken in what many considered a dead language, Rohan had prided himself in being able to live up to the Eirian expectations in the Semblance department. While Rohan never really uses the runes as of late, he still studies them when alone, or if he has finished a lot of his other studies.
  
  In his years of home schooling and being properly trained up in etiquette and Eirian ways both, Rohan could not help but to pick up a lot of negative views on Faunus as well. Especially with the attacks on dust miners and transporters. There was one thing that Rohan had planted in his mind that had time to grow as news reported Faunus attacks, and as his parents had constantly been talking behind closed doors about how the Faunus threat needed to ne neutralised and taken care of.
  
  Since then, Rohan had never really considered himself a friend of Faunus, nor a sympathiser. If there is one thing that Rohan has on the mind, it is to become a good Hunter and a better activist to his family's cause. This meant becoming a good fighter to deal with the problems his family faced with the Faunus activists himself.
  
  When his parents deemed him ready, Rohan was enrolled into the more prestigious and expensive private school of Fairview.

  
  
  

  Fairview Private School

  
  Fairview was Rohan's parents' idea when it came to the point where he needed some kind of social integration and experience before actually being a candidate for running the Eirian company. Fairview had been a school for the most academic, or those from the most esteemed families in the region. Essentially, if you wanted your children continuing to live a rich and happy lifestyle while learning some of the 'best' Hunter techniques, Fairview was the place to do it.
  
  Of course, Rohan was one of those students that had been generally accepted by the students that were familiar with his family's sigil, as it was commonplace to see more times than not. With Rohan's general disposition being that of an inflated ego, he was quick to accept a lot of friend requests, as well as helping out his friends in ways that they asked sometimes. Being the way he was, Rohan had been somewhat naive to the whole making friends business, and had learned a relatively harsh lesson in all of that when his family cut him off from his funds.
  
  There were those that were more forgiving that the others, but Rohan had definitely become a lot more sceptical of those wanting to become his friends for money versus those that wanted to become his friends legitimately. With the friends that he had managed to make and keep, Rohan had continued his curriculum in Fairview, utilising his skill and power in a lot of his Hunter classes and training. The most he did with his weapon, however, was upgrade his gun lance to charge and have an extra kick to it, effectively turning it into a kind of canon.
  
  Turtleshell had been stripped and rebuilt to continue soaking damage, but to be more lightweight. This had been built with some of the insight of a teacher that had been assisting him with his technique and skill. With the upgrades to Turtleshell and Leo, Rohan had been relatively pleased with the work. He had been about to call his parents and let them know how classes had been going, though decided to keep out the bit where he reformed and upgraded the heirloom weapons.
  
  As time went on, and despite the money that had gone into paying for Rohan's education, there were some times where it seemed that his grades were slipping. When those times came, Rohan's mother, Opal, had sat down to have a rather serious discussion with him about it. The discussion had not been one that Rohan really wanted to hear, and perhaps there were some things said that Rohan cannot exactly take back. This had left Opal somewhat stunned, and she had gotten up and left her son to deal with continuing his academics, this time without her full support.
  
  After several weeks of continuing his classes and failing a good majority of them, Rohan had been told by one of the campus counsellors that his best bet was not aspire to be a Hunter if he was not going to take his classes and curriculum seriously. While this had led to an argument with the counsellor, it also led to having a suspension from classes for a week until Rohan could learn to communicate better and learn to speak in a more civilised and calm manner.
  
  Toning it down emotionally, Rohan had cut himself off from some of his friends and had talked to the counsellor that he really wanted to continue aspiring to being a Hunter eventually. That he had too many important things to do once he had become a recognised Hunter. Afterward, Rohan had been a little more studious and had worked his grades up into being passing. He had even gone so far as to make above average marks by taking up after class sessions and tutoring.
  
  The day that Rohan had been accepted into Balefire University with his own merits instead of his family's sigil was the day that Rohan had been the most proud of himself he had ever been in the past. He had finally done something for himself without the complete reliance of his family or those that help his family.
  
  And it felt great.

  
  
  

  Balefire University

  
  Stepping onto the lush grass of Balfire's campus grounds had made Rohan relive and think upon his personal achievement of making it there. He had managed to find people that were eager to meet with him and ask him questions about the Eirian company. Rohan had also gone ahead and met with people that he went to school with and remained friends with. While caught up with his friends, there were just some things that Rohan could not help but to speculate on... the main thing being the number of Faunus that had earned their way onto the campus grounds as well.
  
  With passing remarks and blatant racism, it had been a good couple of moments before the Faunus that had been overhearing the conversation had decided to strike back and engage in combat with Rohan over it. It had taken Rohan off guard, though he had quickly retrieved Turtleshell and Leo against Melan's Ebony and Ivory. However, something seemed off when Rohan looked at the wolf Faunus before him.
  
  The dispute lasted a while, enough time for people to gather around and be spectators to what was happening. It had also gone on long enough for both Rohan and Melan to gain deep wounds from the brawl. Eventually, Violetta Cromatia had come out and ended the fighting, and had ordered everyone to disperse save for the two that were guilty. Rohan and Melan had been escorted to the Dean, and were asked why they should not have been kicked off campus right then and there.
  
  Responses were both mixed, and both individuals had polar opposite reasons for wanting to stay at Balefire University to continue their education and Hunter training. As luck would have it, Crim was easy to forgive, and had dismissed Violetta's concern for the time being. As soon as the two were healed and a proper team formation ceremony could be held, they were sent off -- to Crim's planning.
  
  Rohan had met with Beryl, and had been relatively ashamed to speak too much with her due to the way he had been acting at the start of the college year. Upon realising that it was evident that Beryl did not really care about how Rohan had executed himself. The only thing that Beryl really commented on was the fact that she only cared if he was going to be that hot-headed when dealing with a lot of the exercise at hand.
  
  Ironically, Rohan and Beryl had come across a girl named Ambria, and the other instigator of the conflict, Melan. While Rohan had not been happy about it, and even attempted to vocalise his opinions about them meeting up. Upon hearing some of the condescending tones and the start of derogatory slurs that were used against Melan, Rohan had been stunned to hear that nothing had come out of his mouth, and that Ambria had been giving him a rather intense look. He had attempted to return the look, though his lack of voice had startled him.
  
  It had been just three words, but they stuck.
  
  "Watch. Your. Mouth."
  
  That was all Ambria had to say before she released her Semblance and allowed Rohan to talk again. With the team formed somewhat, they had proceeded through the forest. Grimm had been less of a problem, and Rohan had found himself following Ambria's lead as she had pointed out locations and gave one-word verbalisations to her commands and tactics. It was a little awe-inspiring to have said the least.
  
  Retrieving the chess pieces, it had been time for Crim and Violetta to announce the new teams that were formed within Balefire's ceremony. Rohan admittedly was stunned and repulsed to find out that he had been stuck on Team AMBR, along with Melan. Just when Rohan thought that Balefire would have been the pinnacle of his successes, his hopes had been dashed knowing that with a Faunus on the team, there would have been tension and team dysfunction.
  
  At that time, all Rohan could do was prevent Beryl from voicing her own concerns with Abria being the leader, having saw her disgruntled nature about following her out in the field.
  
  Balefire was sure to be an experience for certain.

• Relations with Team AMBR

  ► Ambria Midas
  
  While having a neutral stance initially on Ambria being the leader of Team AMBR, Rohan's personal thoughts have now waned, and he thinks of her as a 'Faunus-lover'. He dislikes the fact that Amber always seems to side with Melan, and he is never quite content with a lot of her orders as of recent due to it. Now that he knows that Amber seems to favour Mel over him, Rohan does not often really wish to listen to reason, and tends to do his own thing when it concerns Amber's orders.
  
  Seeing past some of his own petty views, Rohan knows and respects the fact that Amber is intelligent. He knows that she commands the field when it comes to directing everyone's attacks for victory. Rohan knows that if it were anyone else leading the team, most of the direction of their on-field assessments would end in failure.
  
  Either way, Rohan cannot find himself respecting Amber completely... not when she takes Melan's side more than his in most debates.
  
  ► Melan Finian
  
  Rohan has a deep hatred for Melan -- it had been evident by the beginning of their college days where the two of them had gotten into a rather nasty fight. This was a fight that ended in the team creation exercise to be delayed several hours as nurses had to take the two into care and get them stitched up and healed. Either way, the two of them got out of it with scars from one another, and looks of disdain whenever they lock eyes.
  
  Amber often intervenes when it concerns Rohan and Melan's disputes. Often, these disputes are caused because Rohan cannot shut up about his opinions on Faunus.
  
  ► Beryl Azura
  
  Rohan and Beryl perhaps get along the best out of who Rohan chooses to associate with. Where Rohan cannot handle much of Mel or Amber's statements on whether or not what he is doing or saying is right, the most he gets out of Beryl is a 'that's not cool, mate'. Sometimes, not even that. Rohan recognises that Beryl tends to keep to herself when it concerns the team dynamics, and the disputes between Rohan and Melan.
  
  If there are ever study groups among the four of Team AMBR, Rohan and Beryl generally tend to stick together. Unfortunately, this also means they make it out with the worst grades of the four, as Amber is the smartest one of the group and has proven time and again to pass all her classes without failure.
